Sophie Yanow

Sophie Yanow is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She used to live in Montreal; the Maple Spring notably inspired her first book War of Streets and Houses (Uncivilized Books, 2014). Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Guardian, Los Angeles Review of Books and The Nib. Her English translation of Dominique Goblet’s Faire semblant c’est mentir won her the Scott-Moncrieff Award. The English edition of her graphic novel The Contradictions (Drawn & Quarterly) was the winner of an Eisner Award.
