The Pow Pow crew has been hard at work over the course of the last few weeks, making sure everything is ready for its November 2014 Kickstarter campaign. Of course, that means we had to shoot a video. Here’s a behind the scene look at the making of the Pow Pow Press promotional film.
We first went to Michel Hellman’s apartment. We asked him a few questions about his book Mile End, ate a world-famous Wilensky Special sandwich… and then we were off to Samuel Cantin’s place, which is just a few blocks away.
Sam talked a bit about his odd and hilarious graphic novel Vile and Miserable which, of course, will be translated in English if our crowdfunding operation is a success. Yes, we did end up drinking a couple of beers before leaving…
Afterwards, we went back to the Pow Pow headquarters where we shot a short segment with Zviane. She talked about For As Long As It Rains, her award-winning comic about a young couple that… which… well, let’s just say it’s complicated…
Day two took us to Montréal’s bookstore Le Port de tête, where our cameraman Farid works. Pascal Girard talked a bit about Dessins, a collection of sketchbook drawings which was published earlier this year by Pow Pow.
Pascal even made a few sketches of the shoot. On this one, we can see Luc Bossé was pretty nervous when his turn came to speak in front of the camera.
