Founded in 2010 by Luc Bossé, Pow Pow is a publishing house based in Montreal, publishing graphic novels by authors from Quebec (and occasionally elsewhere). Since 2015, we have published books in both English and French. Our editorial vision is expansive, but simple: We publish the kinds of graphic novels that we like, with all the diversity and variety that implies. From absurdist comedies to intimate tales and from science-fiction to non-fiction, our catalogue of titles is wide-ranging and testifies to the remarkable power of the comic arts. All Pow Pow titles have one thing in common: each book is made with deep respect for the author’s artistic vision, crafted with care and passion in equal measure.

Our books in English are available in Canada, the United States, and elsewhere, and our French catalogue is available in Quebec (and the rest of Canada) as well as throughout francophone Europe, including France, Belgium, and Switzerland.

Because the Pow Pow Press team is passionate about the English language, it uses Antidote every day.

For the first time, a Pow Pow title is awarded a prize outside of Quebec when Zviane wins the Joe Shuster Award for Best Cartoonist for her work on Les deuxièmes. Today anglophone Canada, tomorrow the world!

  • October 2014 October

Having had so much fun at Richard’s release party, Pow Pow decides to return to the Cheval Blanc for a quintuple book launch. 23h72 by Blonk, one of the books released, is the first Pow Pow title in colour… Meaning we see our printing cost begin to rise.
